As requested by Glorioux (Wizdoom), we have created this column for general discussion and all your chit-chatting needs. You guys/gals can say what you want, all you want. Basically there shall be no censorship but troublemakers may be blocked or filtered.

I can agree that RK is a strong character but my point is the job path selection process for each character you are choosing. For example, if you plan to become a sorcerer, then you should come from the path of a cleric instead of wizard. The paths are clearly laid out nicely here (http://luna.gpotato.com/?m=game&a=jobs) for all to see. Job paths for Guards are on the left and job paths for Warriors are on the right.
Likewise if you choose to be a RK, you should come from the path of a warrior/mercenary. If you mix your paths, that’s when you will spill your SPs all over and end up with a weak character.
If you plan to be a 1h RK, you might as well be a 1h Phalanx and max up your defenses instead of planting your hopes on multiple attack or stun skills. Try getting a 1h RK to battle a pure mace weilding Phalanx with max heavy armor expertise, max shield block expertise, max Wisdom, max enhanced HP and max Mace Protection.
It is also not true that 2h RKs are weaker than 1h RKs. Perhaps 1h RKs have the advantage of shield block, but if you carefully build up a RK from a warrior/mercenary, with max 2h axe skills, 1h RKs may not be able to survive the axe attacks.

Yo, cleric main next path should be priest wor, and wizard main next path is sorcerer.
The reason they do hybrid because cleric got heal can support sorcerer weak def n hp ,if they go wizard > sorcerer will be a good DD but weak heal.
AXE-Rune knight cant use sleeps,swordstrom,sonic boom at pvp or guild wars. (headache part).
But from wat i know is 2 hand Rk is weaker than 1 hand Rk tats a truth.
If 1hand Rk vs 2hand Rk, 2hand will lose bcoz of his low hp and the defense ,vit and hp of a 1hand tanker RK.
1hand will win bcoz it has strong dots, and stun-lock rate is higher than 2hand Rk.
Only 2hand will win if both side use sleep but 1hand Rk sleep fail and he must stun-lock 1hand Rk b4 he died if not u will sleeps u again and u will get stun-lock by 1hand Rk easily with the stun rate is higher than u and comes out with strong dots to kill u.
But very job and path has its own good benefits, i believe 1hand Rk wont be leveling faster than others job path. Just like a 2hand Rk(easier lvling vs 1hand Rk) always can comes out with a higher level , weapon , armor and skill to bring down 1hand Rk…..
or the 1hand Rk will stuck at his level after lvl80+.
And u guys dont be confused…..im just saying the 2hand Rk can killed easily by 1hand Rk.
And not 1hand Rk can win all jobs at luna.

Hi Chipz, u must be EarlVic’s friend. Welcome to Slytherin.
Yeah, clerics can branch out next to be either sorcerers or priests, just like in the job chart (left section under Mage Skills).
But wizards ought to be monks next. From my game experience with “Napolean” back in Kierra, sorcerers are superb party DDs and are made for leveling, hence their bountiful buff skills. Clerics turned sorcerers are not hybrids, as that is what they are suppose to be, like BlueElven.
But a wizard turned sorcerer may be regarded as a hybrid because unlike sorcerers’ AOE expertise, wizard/monk skills are mostly one on one attack. If I’m not wrong, AsterPhoenix is a wizard turned sorcerer. Maybe he can tell us what’s its like to be a hybrid mage.
Again, my point is about the dangers of mixing and matching. Once you start crossing paths, you may not have sufficient SPs to max up your preferred skills. It’s better to be a master of one than to be a jack of all.
Izzit?….i just think wizard > sorcerer is the pure path bcoz both is damage dealers just like warrior > swordmans (mercenary too but its only open for humans,special jobs) so i think its not hybird.
And clerics > sorcerer is the better choice vs wizard > sorcerer because it has buffs + heals but i think tats is hybird bcoz u get enchanced hp ,buffs and divine judgement in the end tats wizard > sorcerer dont have any of those.
If wizards > priest (hybrids) then it has other skill tats cleric > priest dont have.
So the main points thier doing hybrid, is just to build another special charactistic . It wont be wasted sp bcoz it use to learn the hybird skill instead of the main skill.
Like my RuneKnight learn heavy armor instead of light armor, hybrid is just like tat.

Err….isn’t all mage jobs suppose to be DDs? The only difference being single attack DDs or AOE DDs. No way a DD mage can hybrid into a tanker job path
And of coz a cleric turned sorcerer is better than wizard turned sorcerer. I mentioned this point becoz of an earlier suggestion stating that wizards are supposedly to become sorcerer next, which I think is incorrect.
yo guys if sometimes i decided to watch movie tat day i will not be on9 luna ….coz having less time at Monday – Friday.
MysTverN is a warrior turned infantryman (going to be RK next) and he can take down a “cross path” lvl 60++ swordmen. But he cannot take down a lvl 60++ pure path guard/infantryman despite the fact he’s got much higher HP and HP recovery. This is just one example.
I still believe cross path characters will produce weaker physical/magical attack and defense combination which are important factors in determining a character’s PVP survival. On the other hand, a powerful RK’s skill lies in its strength to critically attack with massive blows of a few Ks per shot and its ability to evade, just like mercenaries turned gladiators. As far as I have seen, only light armored, axe users can blow with a few Ks per shot.
Heavy armors are VIT + STR oriented whereas light armors are STR + DEX oriented. And DEX is crucial to provide the accuracy and evasion needed by 2 axe users. A strong RK with high evasion can fend off attacks much better than a RK on heavy armor. Also heavy armor can’t protect you from magical attacks, which are the weakest link of any guard/warrior job paths. Other the other hand, high evasion can.
Axe user rune knight is an another build for.
Rune knight and weapon is sword , gladiator for axe and phalanx for mace and knight is already set up as a “hybrid” either mace or sword depends on ur paths and builds.
If i make a Axe and pure offensively path Rk my atk will be thunderous Strong. But by the way, my hp and def will be weakening.
Same as a sword Rk have both good offensively(not the best) and good defensively(not the best either) or should i said equal builds…it cant take down his opponent as fast as Axe str Rk.
But look at the bright side…he has skill tat Axe Rk cant use and it wont be too lack of hp n def.
I plan to be tis build bcoz it is safier from being killed , anyway, u would be slower to take down enemy.
And Rk will not able to evade his opponent even it is pure dex with well dex armor , it doesnt had any evasion skill for Rk, only Gla do have. Tats why Rk has sleep as his advantanges…
And evasion cant even evade any mage atks.
And heavy armors also can gets dex right?
Conclusion, no jobs are prefectly build for all stats but it does have the top 1 pvp man like Phoenixwind at kierra but it still can be killed.

Hehehe…you mean no characters are perfect. Obviously, bro. The fella who is stronger is the one who spends lots of time & gold perfecting his character’s skills & stats. The one who is weak is the one who screwed up.
Phoenixwind is good becoz he spends like crazy. And I got the funny feeling he made his 2nd Bishop character probably becoz he sensed something is not optimum about his monk turned warlock. I may be wrong. Again you can see from his example, it is all about how much time & money u put into your character & certainly it’s not about which character or job is more superior than the other.
Ya, tats was right.
And also dont forget the way u play oso will effect the way ur character preform.

if u want to be so strong to dominate in PvP, why don’t you find us & have a duel to test your job’s abilities & power. It’s a good way to test your skills(to plan your skill combo on different opponent). You will know what your job’s capable to do.

as a archer, ur objective is to strike ur enemy from afar to eliminate b4 it comes to u. lika a mage, u need to stay in safe distance between ur opponent to save ur life (this ensures ur survivability, depending on ur grinding method & position). if u think u’r too weak due to low def value, try to keep a safe distance from ur prey next time :/
no problem now…i can kill each mobs with 2 strikes. And after lvl 40 i only use wind breaking and pets tank for lvling i think it should be OK.
But i do have another question at below for dicussion.

Does dex or critical increase critical damage?
Of coz they do. Press C, point your cursor to DEX and read the side note. But I think your critical needs to be very high in order to achieve any significant difference in your shots. However Ariele is an archer with high levels of STR. Check with her on this.

Glorioux is right, DEX increases critical rate, not damage. Or what we normally term as whether miss or don’t miss.
no, DEX and critical rate can’t increase critical damage, but do increase critical rate. the only way to increase ur critical damage is to learn active or passive skills that give crit.dmg%, or, u can follow a pure dagger job path(ruffian > theif > th, with this path u can get lvl 3 crit dmg bonus +4%). although i suggest u to build up ur critical rate b4 that.
I see, so damage is still very much dependent on your strength. Maybe this is reason why Ariele made eqs with high STR. The principles are so similar to other jobs. Learning passive skills to achieve high critical damage is what warriors do too.

Even with my 200% shield barrier turned on, 2 or 3 blows from the dragon and I’m down. With my barrier my physical def is about 3k and my magical def is 1.3k. My hp is 4.4k total for now. If we want to do the magical flame quest, we need lots of support, several tankers, several DDs and several healers. Otherwise, be prepared to sacrifice loads of exps.

As long as you are not going back to Runup, Windows 7 should be perfect. I think Runup & Windows 7 only works with a certain type of graphics card. Those standard Intel built-in graphics found mostly in notebooks, is not one of them.

hmmm….i would go for offensive, which mean i would not go for pure path :$. i chosen a human, which has higher vit & str, with exclusive toggle skills. (my path is warrior > infantry > gladiator > (perhaps)crusader > ???)

all the way 1 handed but only problem is swordman’s skill more effective by using a sword and so do knight’s skill.
*Swordmans always can change to either 1handed or 2handed using reskill srcoll and so do knight but SWORD must be thier primary weapon.
being a gladiator, u can still use some of the skills with 1handed weapon (i.e; body check) moreover, higher lvl fighter’s heart surpass knight’s buff skill(solid weapon if i remember)

Juz to make sure it can tank or offense well by 1handed.
Gladiator do have 6 lvl of fighter heart.(60 Str).
But it doesnt have any defensive skill anymore after u lvl75.
Gladiators are DDs not tankers.
Tanker? I thought you played tankers before at Kierra and you didn’t like it. So why repeat what you don’t like doing here again? My suggestion is you should focus on your Wizdoom and build it up to the 3rd job change before you start your new tanker character.

GPotato is conducting hardware maintenance now and once they turn the servers on shortly, the Kierra boss will spawn in the Deadly Hill in either one of the 4 channels. Strike one shot at the Kierra boss and get your Lucky Box (3rd). In my region, it is now 4.15pm (GST +8) and the servers are expected to go live between 4.30pm – 5pm.

You can do all kinds of things at Runup’s Luna, copying, pasting, hacking, changing binary files etc etc. But this is GPotato. I’m not sure if GPotato’s Luna files are linked to Windows’ dll registry files. Hmmmm….better not take the risk, will cost me 4 boxes if it don’t work….:P

Well, the system here is very different from Kierra Server; megaphones are not for sale at Alker’s NPCs and it’s a cash item. So the occasional free megaphones from gift packs can be sold for loads of gold.

Evander i found out PALADIN only have lvl 10 double strike,therefore MAGNUS is the 1 who have lvl 15 double strike and it has rune impact too.
But MAGNUS only have lvl 20 heavy armor and enchance hp while PALADIN have 25 on both.
.So do blunt shield …
*MAGNUS blunt shield max lvl 20 :
(stun for 4.5sec with the cooldown
4.6sec + 1.0sec cast time = cant stun lock with only blunt shield but dont forgot its has rune impact so stun lock will be success using those both skill but also need to drink up ur mp to learn both skill.)
*PALADIN easy…
blunt shield lvl 21 or 25 :
(stun for 7 sec! only with
4.2sec cooldown + 1.0sec cast time (5.2sec)
so u can using tat 1.8sec to do ur dd strike.
(tats mean stun-lock only with blunt sheild,
no need to combo others skills to lock them up.
Now Magnus has some special ability :
.Sleep skill using sword.
.Aura buff strongest parties buff, especially
PORTECTION AURA > another INVULNERABLE SKILL AND
IT WAS A BUFF !!!!!
.And oso duel weild (double 1 hand sword

Its a hard choice, but it is ur path ur choice. Im just figure this thing out in the afternoon and dicuss at here.
But my little bcwl444 will be Paladin bcoz of the heavy armor ….since bcwl444 is a tanker tat only party with my others character or others slytherin to do just lvling.

Magnus is the continuation path for Rune Knights and not so suitable for Phalanx. If you use Blunt Shield continuity with a Paladin, you don’t need Rune Impact. And to think of building Rune Impact from zero to 20 at level 105, would be crazy and takes too much sps. Makes more sense to just adding up Blunt Shield to level 25.
What about mace protection if you go Magnus? Max mace protection level for Magnus is only 15 whereas you can up to 20 for a Paladin. So if you change from Phalanx to Magnus, you will have to do full VIT built again to compensate for loss VITs. This way, it is not good, if you plan to be power-tanker to be able to take on mobs at the Gardens or Knights Graveyard later.
The same applies to shield training, which is important to block physical attacks. Magnus max is only level 15 whereas Paladin can go up to 20. Shield block is the secret used by Phalanx to defeat 2 hand physical attacks!
At the end of the tunnel, a fully built Paladin is much more defense-robust compared to a Magnus.
And if you change from a Phalanx to a Magnus, errr…………….
So it really depends on what you want to be. Same question, to be a damage dealer or tanker? Strong characters choose only either one, and if you go balanced, like if you wanna be a damage dealer who can tank, you’ll be screwed again.
I’m keeping the reset scrolls I got from the lvl 75 gift box, until I reach level 105. After one round at Kierra server, this time my Phalanx is with very little mistakes, and does not need resetting at this stage. If you are going to be fighter –> guard –> infantryman –> phalanx, you have similiar experience like me and should not need any resetting at level 75 either.

And yes, as a tanker, blunt shield is the 1 and only stun skill that u MUST learn
If u upgrade to above level 20, u will realize how it benefits you;
1# high chance of stunning opponent
2# prolonged stun duration
& 3# easy to master/handle skills
Although you might have problem when against a PKer in wide, open PK zone(PK-available maps such as MBP), due to fact that blunt shield is not a ranged attack skill
In my opinion, tanker can be offensive. As i mentioned in Twitter, fighter is the most versatile among all classes. I believe tanker can become very strong, like my GloRiouX (remember when I duel against you, bcwl??)

I would choose hybrid for good buffs and other AoE skills
The definition of a tanker is, “character class that can absorb huge amounts damage that would normally go to lower armor classes and to protect them in the course of damage dealings.”
And unless a tanker can take “HUGE” amounts of damage, a tanker is not a tanker. I would categorically put out a simple standard for tankers in this manner; if one could withstand damages from 20 mobs of the same level for at least 60 seconds, without any significant drop in HP, then he can be classified as a tanker.
The term tanker is often misunderstood. I have seen many characters who could only take 5-6 mobs at a time and they call themselves tankers. 5-6 mobs? A mage could do that equally well.
Yes, tankers can be offensive too. If you know how.
But the strength of a tanker lies in its defenses. A tanker may take longer than usual to inflict damage on others, but as long as his defenses is tough enough to withstand powerful attacks from his opponents, the time he buys from his defenses is what he needs to bring down his opponent.
The million dollar question is who will be faster. If a tanker can withstand damage attacks well over 30 secs or more, he stands good chance in any pvp.
Next, the attack attributes of the tanker; physical or magical? With a shield in hand, there’s little a tanker hope for in creating physical damage with single handed weapons, so my opinion is a tanker is better with magical attacks rather than physical.
Yeah, shield stun is a short distance offensive skill. That’s where “Holy Spear” becomes important as it can inflict damage within 6-8m distance and stalls the opponent for one or two seconds so that you can get closer to the opponent for more attacks.
Well, good players can just about take up any job and turn the character into a powerful pvp-er. To be powerful, the character needs to be in its correct path and of a certain high level. So it also means fast leveling is equally important.
To master the art developing a strong character, I think it is best to stick to one job and not change to another until you have mastered it.
Magnus for me is more likely a hybridic stats tanker.
Its more offensively but didnt loss out defensively althought its def n block rate weaker than paladin.
But the mace portection still same as paladin.
But u cant say magnus cant tank.

So its kinda equal.
plus with -patk/matk debuff for magnus, you can tank over 6 mobs at a time without problem. sometimes, skills are as important as stats
Mace protection will be same only if you come from Fighter –> Guard –> Infantryman –> Phalanx –> Magnus (or Paladin for that matter). But what is the benefit of turning into Magnus from a pure tanker path? Makes more sense to come from a Rune Knight if you plan to be a Magnus next.
Magnus is super strong if you wield 2 hand swords, like a Rune Knight. And when you do that, your mace protection and shield block skills will rendered useless. Unless of course if you use a 2 hand mace, but then your shield skills will still be gone. But 2 hand mace is never as offensive as a 2 hand sword based on the available skills for Rune Knights/Magnus.
To sacrifice 5 levels of shield block, 5 levels of heavy armor expertise and 5 levels of mace protection, and still expect to tank 20-30 mobs say at level 115 to 120, I think this is not possible. Unless of course if tanking means just to take 5-6 mobs at one time, which like I mentioned earlier, even a defenseless mage could do a better job at taking just 5-6 mobs. Take a look at our Warlocks, AsterPhoenix and BlueElven, when they train solo.
Mages will only party a tanker if the tanker can take huge amounts of blow from 20-30 mobs at one go. If the tanker could only take 5-6 mobs, then the mages are better off training solo without tankers. The repercussions of changing from Phalanx to Magnus is the same as the repercussions of changing from Warrior to Infantryman.

And i oso dont believe tat magnus is the evolution only for rune knight since lvl 105 has 6 jobs.

it has PORTECTION AURA for all parties member. (it useful for guild war, i oso figure out this from youtube, a man buffing the portection aura at guild tournament and makes his team member die lesser and take the win.)

Back to the Paladin/Magnus topic, if you have time, hang around more & chat with top level players at Nera, from big guilds like SIRENIA and CrimsonOrder. And you will soon discover how these players are dying to party Phalanx/Paladins. Several of them have already approached me, and even suggested to me what I should be so that they could party me when I am ready for the Garden & the Graveyard. And these are mostly 2 hand Knights, Rune Knights and Magnus.
One even suggested I go Paladin on FULL vit, which you would have guessed, I disagreed again.

My healer path.
Cleric > Sorcerer > Bishop.
This charac will ever reach over lvl 76 since bishop.
Its main objective is only to heal players while having a guild wars or tournament.
I’ll went through sorcerer to get those Aoe for lvl 40 – 75 ‘using free tanking-AOE’ method so can boost faster to bishop and reset to heal skill.
But of course i’ll have to get done my bcwl444 to phalanx 1st.
Hope this healer is useful for Slytherin.
And hope it will take Slytherin to a next level.

It’s impossible to catch up with us even if u wish to. We’re like several months ahead. But rogues are a must for mozzie parties if u plan to train beyond lvl 90++. Something like 3.5k physical attack AOE… in order to sweep the mozzies in like less than 1 minute per cycle.
For tanks, if u r full VIT, u can start with mozzies at 75 or 76, but u will only get good exps from 78 onwards. If u r hybrid stats like me, u can start tanking from 85 to 86 onwards. For tankers, u need to have more than 10k HP to survive the mozzies’ bleed attacks.

Today is maintenance day for luna servers, better park ur char at kierra lair/ deadly hills… we can hit kierra to a pulp and get 1 lucky box.. btw, im waiting for the maintenance to be done. approximately around 30 minutes to 1 hour.. relogin around 1:30 pm… haha. every THURSDAY, 12:58 pm malaysian time (MAINTENANCE) 1:30 pm malaysian time (RELOGIN)

The timing the servers goes online varies. Sometimes they start up by 1.30pm and sometimes it can be as late as 2-3 hours later.
